Three dresses, three different moments of the day. Three dresses, three different moments of the day.

Fei’s wedding wardrobe was carefully chosen to reflect each part of the celebration.

She started with her beautiful ceremony dress, which she wore through the drinks reception before changing into a traditional cheongsam for dinner, a nod to her Chinese heritage that tied in beautifully with the Chinese feast guests were about to enjoy.

Then, as the evening got underway, Fei changed into a more relaxed dress for the first dance and ceilidh, giving her the freedom to properly get on the dance floor and enjoy the party.

I loved seeing Fei’s look evolve throughout the day, with each dress marking a different part of the celebration.

There was already so much history and heritage wov There was already so much history and heritage woven into the setting of @mount_stuart, the ancestral home and family seat of the Marquesses of Bute.

So when Fei & Jack chose to celebrate their wedding here, one of the things that was really important to them both was finding ways to incorporate Fei’s Chinese heritage throughout the day, alongside nods to Jack’s Scottish heritage.

We wanted the design to feel cohesive, rather than having cultural details appear as separate moments, so Chinese and Scottish influences were woven into the wedding in lots of different ways.

Reds and blues became the foundation of the colour palette. Chinoiserie vases were a key part of the design too, which @wearegloam incorporated beautifully throughout the space.

The menu was completely bespoke, created by @culinarians.uk to bring together Chinese and Scottish influences. Guests enjoyed sharing dishes of dim sum, Peking duck and roast pork, alongside a dessert table featuring Scottish favourites including Ecclefechan tart and Scottish tablet.

Even the four-tier cake brought both cultures together, with @liggyscakes incorporating a thistle to represent Jack’s Scottish heritage.

The stationery tied into the overall theme too and double happiness table number stands added another subtle nod to the Chinese theme.

And then there were the moments that really brought the cultures to life: a traditional lion dance, a ceilidh, and Fei changing into a beautiful cheongsam for the second part of the day.

The evening food also continued the fusion, with a ramen station for guests to enjoy.

It was a wedding that felt completely personal to Fei & Jack, with a considered design full of details celebrating both of their cultures.
